Breather ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Breather mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Breather is designed to be privacy-first.

a. Information You Provide

• Basic inputs you enter in the app (e.g. financial assumptions, lifestyle preferences, city choices)
• Optional personalization inputs (e.g. name or scenario labels)

All such data is stored locally on your device and used only to power app functionality.

b. Financial Account Data via Plaid

If you choose to connect your bank or investment accounts, Breather uses Plaid — a regulated, SOC 2-certified financial data provider — to retrieve your account balances in read-only mode. This allows Breather to calculate your real-time net worth, debt, and financial projections.

• Plaid retrieves account balances only — we never access transaction history, account numbers, or credentials
• Your bank login credentials are entered directly into Plaid's secure interface and are never seen or stored by Breather
• A Plaid access token is stored server-side (Supabase) solely to enable balance refresh — it is not used for any other purpose
• Connecting accounts is optional — you can use Breather with manually entered values at any time

c. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not:

• Create user accounts or collect names, email addresses, or government IDs
• Access bank credentials, account numbers, or transaction history
• Track precise location
• Sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising

2. How Your Data Is Used

Your data is used solely to:

• Run real-time net worth, debt, and financial projections
• Show estimates, comparisons, and lifestyle simulations
• Refresh account balances when you open the app (via Plaid)
• Improve in-app calculations and experience

3. Data Storage

• Financial planning inputs and projections are stored locally on your device
• Plaid access tokens are stored server-side in Supabase, encrypted at rest, and used only to fetch account balances on your behalf
• Tokens for accounts inactive for 12 months are automatically deleted
• We do not maintain user profiles or store balance data on our servers — balances are fetched live and displayed in-app only

4. Analytics

Breather may use privacy-friendly analytics tools to understand:

• App usage patterns
• Feature performance
• Crash or error diagnostics

These analytics do not identify you personally.

5. Third-Party Services

Breather relies on the following trusted third-party services:

• Plaid Inc. — read-only financial account connectivity. Plaid is SOC 2 Type II certified and operates under its own Privacy Policy.
• Supabase Inc. — secure backend infrastructure for storing Plaid access tokens
• Apple Inc. — app distribution, In-App Purchases, and analytics

These services comply with applicable privacy laws and platform privacy standards.

6. Data Deletion

You can remove your data at any time:

• Disconnect accounts: Disconnect any linked bank account within the app — this immediately deletes the associated Plaid access token from our servers
• Delete the app: Uninstalling Breather removes all locally stored data from your device
• Full deletion request: Email support@veralevel.app to request deletion of all server-side data. We will fulfill requests within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Breather is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage of Plaid access tokens and restricted server access. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date.
